About Fantastic Beasts and How to Find Them

I've read one after the other all the books from the Harry Potter series and found them really good written and well deserving to create a literary phenomenon. I've also read other books by J.K.Rowling, the detective series, and liked it too.
However, the main brand of the author remains Harry Potter therefore I can understand the enthusiasm behind any new literary creation around this topic, although not all of them might be at the same level. For instance, I was quite a bit dissapointed by the ...Cursed Child, and was quite skeptical to deal with Fantastic Beasts
I've read the hardcover variant - in the German language - which has a very elegant and exquisite black-and-white design. It cover a period of time before the Harry Potter stories, but offers interesting insights of the origins of some beats and their magic powers. Newt Scamander is a pseudonym of J.K.Rowling, a 'magizoologist' exploring the secret world of witches and wizards from New York City. It is written as a screenplay and therefore it may be less attractive for those not used with this format. However, the dialogues are quite vivid and entertaining and keeps you interested until the very end.
It can be used either as a compedium and background dictionary for the Harry Potter series, but can be also read as a stand alone book. Less spectacular and slow paced, it has the merit to outline the magic of everyday life.
The book is definitely a 'To-Be-Read' for the fans of Harry Potter and a good lecture recommendation to anyone interested in some easy fantastic read.
