I love everything by Lexi Rees. Her books are not only beautifully illustrated and inspiring, but do have a very positive message as well, encouraging both knowledge and informed choice. For lovers of her writing, there is a good news: A new book is out this summer called SuSTYLEability and I am more than happy to be involved in sharing the good news with a cover reveal. Teasing, indeed, but this is the next step to pre-ordering it: https://lexirees.co.uk/all-activity-books/
My observation about the cover: it has a good choice of colours, and says in few words what one can expect about the book. Indeed, you guess it well, it is about fashion, but not the intensive, time and money hungry kind of fashion we are way too much used with. Rees writes about the fashion that concerns me and the generations after me more than ever: how to keep the right balance between sustainability and beauty. How to keep being well dressed and trendy but without using, for instance, products outsourced in places where children are used as cheap workforce, or women are underpaid, or not paid at all? Or even more: how to stop paying so much for products made out of products that do harm the environment?
SuSTYLEability promises to answer at least some of my very urgent questions: how to create small outfit changes in a way that do contribute to the world sustainability; how to better style your wardrobe while shopping; how to upstyle and upcycle your wardrobe; how to give a new life to your old clothes. For me at least, it sounds very entincing and I am really curious to read the book. Already counting the weeks until the official release.
Disclaimer: Cover and information about the book offered as part of the tour, but the opinions are, as usual, my own.
